Dinner Salad with Italian Dressing

Harvest!  Freshly picked lettuce is so good.  I love it when the first lettuce is ready and salad season begins.  I planted about 8 different varieties of lettuce this year.
It's fun to come up with different recipes on a daily basis. Changing a few ingredients and the type of dressing you use, keeps everyone interested in eating salads often.
Here is my recipe for the Italian dressing:

1 T. granulated garlic
1 T. granulated onion
2 T. white sugar
2 T. dried oregano
1 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 tsp celery salt
2 T. salt
1/2 C. fresh basil
1/4 C. fresh parsley
1/4 C. white vinegar
1/2 C. balsamic vinegar
4 T. water
1-1/2 C. vegetable oil

Place all of the ingredients except the oil in your food processor.  Pulse until everything is pureed.  Slowly drizzle the oil in as the processor is running.

For this salad, I cooked some chicken and made some bacon.  I forgot to take a bacon photo.

Divide the lettuce amongst your plates.  I used some of my arugula which added a really nice flavor.

Basically, add what you like.  I added red onion, tomato, hard boiled eggs, cheddar, blue cheese, bacon, chicken, strawberries and blackberries.

Drizzle with the dressing and dig in!

Those plates look just delicious! One really don't need anything more when having salad like that!

Have a great day!

I can't wait 'til ours comes in. We've had some spinach but no lettuce yet.
