Geneva-On-The-Lake

This was our Saturday destination.  Geneva-On-The-Lake, Ohio.

They say that you time travel when you enter this town.  Nothing has changed in years and years.  Zeppe's Pizza.

This reminded me of being on a boardwalk at the beach.

 Stir Fry On The Lake....hmmmm.

The little blue cottages I showed yesterday are an example of what you see all over this town.  Most of the cottages look like they are from the 40's if not earlier.

Arcades and gift shops line the main street.

 Golf.

 A famous old donut shop.

 Gyros.

This was our choice for lunch.

You can sit at the sidewalk counter or eat inside.

The beach is a block away.

I wonder what caused them to put up this sign.  A headless child?

You can play the jukebox from your booth.

Thy make a great fish sandwich.

Just as cute as can be.

Click to enlarge.  That is Fat Sal in the boat.

Lake Erie as far as the eye can see.

And then The Blog Tech got a call that he was needed back home for a meeting.  So, we jumped in the car and found the highway and flew back home.  It was fun while it lasted though!

Eddie's reminds me very much of a dog-and-burger joint just north of Winnipeg that I used to frequent back in the day. Charming! Love those booth mini-jukeboxes. Boy, those take me back.

What a great town! We have a few places like that but not entire towns. That is a must go place if I ever travel to the other side of the ocean :-)

Have a great day!

Geneva-by-the-Lake. That somewhat reminds me of the Lac Léman where Frankenstein was invented by/inspired to Mary Shelley.

I am very curious about the fish sandwich. Sounds very American.

That would be fun to go back in time, but if I told them how things were now they would put me in a mental hospital. Still the place looks like a fun place to stop.

What a quaint town. Loved seeing all the restaurants and shops. That fish sandwich sounded good. This looks like the perfect getaway. What's not to love about Lake Erie.
What a great escape! Too bad you had to rush off!
What I noticed right away was all the electrical lines stretching across the street..it sure does look like a walk back through time! SO clean and neat and colorful! I loved it! It's too bad you had to leave so soon..but a nice drive and a delicious lunch..not a bad day I would say! :) Lotsa red. I loved that too.

Eddie's is perfect, however, I think I'll pass on a boat trip with Fat Sal!
