4th of July Food

I am not a big fan of the 4th of July so I don't do much for the holiday.  However, my husband loves 4th of July food so I make sure to prepare the traditional fare. Since the fourth was on Friday, I made holiday food for the whole weekend.  On the 4th itself, I made BBQ chicken.
I baked hamburger and hot dog buns.

 BBQ sauce.

 Baked beans.

 Good old fashioned macaroni salad.

 And cherry limeade to drink.

I made blueberry pie with the freshly picked berries I bought at the market.

 Cracked pie...bummer.

So I made another.  Did you prepare typical 4th of July food too?

looks so good Joyce, they ate well at your house, lol, when do they not, Canadian here, didn't celebrate the fourth but we could hear the celebrations across the border, America always puts on the best fireworks,

Not American, so the 4th isn't a celebration here, but I do think I love 4th of July food! Especially that pie!

That looks delicious!

I wouldn't care if thge pie had any cracks :-) Down it goes anyway :-)

A new thunderstorm is just reaching my village, this will go on the entire day.

Before the first storm the temperature reached 84,4F, it dropped to 78,8 after, Now it's building up again just before the storm and it's like living in a steam bath :-) :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.
You can send any cracked pies to ME. I'll do you a favour by taking them off your hands, LOL!

I grilled venison burgers on the 5th but that was the extent of it.

Everything looks SO good! We can't eat a whole pie here... so that kind of dessert waits for family to be here. I would love to see your bbq chicken recipe!

I find the beans very Mexican and the blueberry pie, well, it is very much Saguenayan if that works exists in English.
I love Fourth of July! What I enjoy most about the holiday are the family and friends part of it! I love all the fresh veggies, grilled meats, and the creative salads. Best of all, you don't have to buy gifts for anyone! LOL

The perfect 4th of July food. With my knee still being a pain, we went out to a place that advertised a "picnic". We had very similar food to what you cooked but I bet yours was even better!!!!! Especially that blueberry pie!!!!!

Sounds scrumptious. In the old days I used to really do it up with barbecue chicken, salad and the likes.
