Teddy

This is a sure sign that Fall is close.  The tree peony pods have opened.

They look like they should be edible.

Someone asked about Teddy yesterday.  I guess I haven't had her on the blog recently.  So, I went out this morning and asked her if she wanted to be on it today.

She did not seem too excited about it.

I almost got her to look at me.

Then she immediately looked away.  This is typical chow behavior, they are very aloof.

But then I mentioned that a treat might be involved.  She jumped up so fast that she is a bit of a blur.

She still holds her paw up like this when she is standing still.  She does not seem bothered by it at all when she runs or walks.

The treat word sure got her attention.  She is watching me get her treat in the garden room.

Watching the treat coming towards her.

 Patience and anticipation.

 The treat.

Making sure she has a tight grip on it.

 Making the getaway.

She will not eat a treat in front of anyone.  She needs treat privacy.

And there she goes.  I think she is afraid someone might try to take it from her.  Believe me, that someone would have to have a death wish!

She's so cute :-) It was hard to see any exitement in her eyes when You asked if she wanted to be in the blog today :-)

It's fun but all my dogs run in different directions when they get abtreat as well and here is a real threat that someone would try to steal it away from them :-)

Have a great day!

Teddy is one smart dog knowing all about treats!

Hi Teddy! Isn't it funny how she takes her treat away to eat. Mack likes to bury his. Stella likes to dig them up and bring them into the house.

I swear, every time I see a picture of her I just wanted to grab her face and smooch it all over, ha.

Joyce, it is 9:30 on Tuesday evening and I just now got this post! Why does it take so long for it to get out to California!
Mele is just the opposite..needs to be the center of attention..at leasgt for a minute or so.
I wish you could somehow get her to a Vet so see if there is something embedded in her paw. Or something wrong with one of her claws The problem has been going on too long for it to be able to heal on it's own. Is it possible to feed her a tranquilizer? Then pick her up and take her quickly to a Vet?
Your Fall leaves are so pretty...
