Collards Cookoff

I got up at 4:00 am this morning and made cornbread.  Lots and lots of cornbread. If you want a good cornbread recipe for Thanksgiving, you can find it here: http://octoberfarm.blogspot.com/search?q=honey+cornbread
Each one of these holds a double recipe.  And why did I bake all of this cornbread?

Because The Blog Tech and I entered a collard cookoff.  He made the collard's yesterday and I warmed them up this morning. He made 12 quarts of collards.

And we made 10 quarts of baked beans.  We don't expect to win.  We are up against stiff competition.  Though I do think we will give them a run for their money!  We just entered because it is fun!

I think the cornbread would be yummy...but when it comes to greens, I am a little kid again and I am not eating them. LOL. But my sister would eat a bowl full. I sure hope you and your hubby win . Blessings, xoxo,Susie

Now that is some good cooking as those foods really go together. A complete winter meal.

What a wonderful combination! Being originally from the south, I LOVE collard greens and cornbread. The baked beans are just the icing on the cake...
