A Small Greenhouse

On Saturday, I drove far out into the country to this antique store to pick something up which I saw there a few weeks ago.  At that time, I was not sure if I wanted it.  As soon as I returned home, I was convinced that I needed it. You would think that I would learn from these experiences.

This is what I could not live without.  A small greenhouse made from recycled windows.  This is sitting here temporarily until I figure out how I am going to use it and where I have room for it.

When it is set up correctly, the front door (window) opens on hinges. It certainly can be used to start seeds but what can I use it for the rest of the season?  It is very sturdy and well made.  It is heavy!  And it is massive.  I really, really needed this, right?

I Lovvvvvvvvve it!!!!! It has that earthy yet magical enchanted thing going one. Make a living FAIRY GARDEN / WORLD IN THAT BABY!!! I can picture a fairy flying in the upper section and all mini plant life below with a cool fairy house and small walking path etc etc etc :].
I will pick up all those gorgeous old windows I see being put out for the garbage because I know what I can do with them now !

Definitely a must have item. very unique. First thing I see is paint it black and do a Halloween scene with pumpkins and one or two of your witches. I like the fairy land idea also. You can change it by the season or pick a favorite.

Who wouldn't need a green house like that!

You get it so warm during summer so it would be a waste to have a tomato plant in it since they'll grow just as good without it.

It would be perfect for a more tropical plant though.

Have a great day!
Christer.

I would paint it up a bit and turn it into a fairy village with tiny plants and set it where it can get only the morning sun.

Absolutely......you definitely needed that! I would have had a hard time passing that up as well. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Beautiful! Tomatoes for now- maybe salad greens nearer fall?
I do not see how you could possibly have lived without it. I'm sure you'll put it to good use!

I love that!! It's got so much charm. I like the idea of a small fairy garden type of arrangement. But some orchids or similar flowers would be lovely too. It's got an old world feel. "Ye olde greenhouse", ha.

Holiday displays? Love the fairy garden idea perhaps a flying witch on a string?
Joyce, you did good! Change it with the seasons..but it will have to be ...maybe it should be in a rather covered area. No subjected to wind, rain and heat. I've had experience leaving things out and been very sorry. This is a lovely addition to a patio where it is shaded but with bright light. My daughter has something similar and she paid good money for it. It was charming and ended up warped and sad looking. Does it need a tray in the bottom? gravel for drainage. This such a fun project you have found for yourself. And yes, Tiny pumpkins and cornstalks in Fall..WOW...you are going to have such fun with this. :) Even a bigger pumpkin, Fall leaves and a flying witch..moon? Ohhhh..can't wait to see what you come up with.
WAIT!! THIS IS NOT MY PROJECT!!! Almost forgot for a minute! :):)
