Buttery Dinner Rolls

This recipe produces light, fluffy and buttery dinner rolls and makes your kitchen smell wonderful.  The above rolls are actually frozen because I forgot to take a photo of them when they came out of the oven.  They still look good though don't they?
Mix 1 C. of milk, 1/4 C. of sugar, 1/2 C. of softened butter, 2 beaten eggs, 2-1/2 tsp. of rapid rise yeast, 1/2 tsp. of salt and 4 C. of flour until you have a smooth ball of dough.  Place it in a buttered bowl, cover it and let it rise until doubled.  Dump it out onto a floured surface.

Roll it out to about 1/2 inch thickness.

 Brush it with butter.

 Fold it in half.

Slice it into 1 inch strips.

 Tie them in a knot.

Place them on a parchment covered cookie sheet and brush them with butter again.

Let them double.  Bake them at 375 degrees for about 20-25 minutes until they are golden.

And just for good measure, I brush them with butter when I take them out of the oven.

I agree with Debra too, there is no such thing as too much butter :-) I'll try these when I start the fire in the stove next time.

Have a great day!

LOVE the way you tie these in a knot. How cool is that and tasty too.
Lovely! Okay, for instance, today I made a big batch of chocolate chip cookies..with nuts and those BIG chocolate chips..(forget the name of the chips but not Nestles) and they are really pretty and taste wonderful. Yes. By the time I was finished...never mind, but it's now 9pm and the kitchen is still sitting with pans to be washed..floor to be swept. I'm all proud because I baked ONCE this past month. The point? I would be a little pool of human on the floor if I baked and cooked 1/8th as much as you do..LESS!
HOW do you do it? Is it like the piano? The more you play the better you (are supposed to)get? Am I just getting old and running out of steam? In my best days I could not have do all you do! ..bottom line..those look wonderful..just...wonderful! *sniff* I am SO intimidated! :)
"could not have DONE" I need to proof read too.
