Pioneer Festival Part ll

 There were lots of nice crafts at the fair.  These baskets were tempting.

 I could set up my own maple syrup booth. I still have lots left from sugaring off season last spring.

 This woman had some wonderful items for sale.

 Kids could go on pony rides,


 And there was a pumpkin patch!

 This was a strange little display.

 Right next to it were these two pioneers making beautiful music playing crystal glasses. It was quite impressive.

 The strange place had a miniature mummy mermaid on display along with all sorts of other oddities.  I am sure little children were mesmerized/horrified by it all.

 Lots of the participants camp out for the weekend in pup tents on the grounds.


 These ladies look like they are having fun.


 Roasted turkey legs.  We bought a scotch egg but it wasn't very good.  Scotch eggs are such a treat that I hate it when they aren't good.

 These rocking horses were really special and expensive. The cheapest ones were around 600.00 but most were 1500.00 and higher.

 I bought this from the felter for some of my little friends.

this was not a huge fair but had some really interesting displays, the baskets really caught my eye, the packsack baskets ,, those are something special,
the sound of the music the ladies were making must have sounded amazing in the woods. I really admire felted anything so that headless horse man is wonderful,, too bad the scotch egg wasn't so good,

I love fairs and this is the best time for them when the weather is cool. For us right now it is too much rain.

I really like those felted pumpkins, especially the green goblin one :-) and that mumified mermaid is just horrific but cool :-) :-)

The headless horseman is so cool, it will be loved where ever it will end up!

I just love reading your blog!! This was a lovely little festival. We go every year. I am from the Irwin area in PA, so it's not a far drive. Those needle felted creations were wonderful. I admire the talent involved and the patience!

Joyce, what is a Scotch egg? I have never heard of them. Crystal makes such a haunting sound, it must have been beautiful.
The felted piece was amazing. I've seen very small felted things before. What a lot of work must have gone into that.

The fair looks so fun! Here in Western Mass we also have loads of fall fairs and celebrations. Wonderful pictures.
