Make Ahead Turkey Gravy

I always make my gravy ahead of time for Thanksgiving and I make a lot of it.   Gravy makes everything better.  I buy lots of turkey parts and make stock with them.
Then, the day that I make the gravy all I have to do is melt some butter in a heavy pot.

 Add some flour.

Whisk it while cooking it for several minutes.

Then slowly start adding the stock.  I wait until it begins to thicken and then add more stock.
Taste it for seasoning and adjust it as needed.  I already seasoned the stock so all the gravy really needed was some chopped parsley. This will be placed in a slow cooker on the Thanksgiving buffet so it will stay warm.

Thank you! The only gravy that turns out for me is sausage gravy and brown gravy. I won't have to purchase any for Thanksgiving. You are a life saver!!

Isn't it odd that I've never been a fan of gravy? The men in the family? Well, that's another story! Can't leave off the gravy on Thanksgiving.:-)

Yes what would life be without gravy :-)
It's a smart idea! I rarely need to make that much food butit is a great idea to think of if I ever have a big dinner again!

Have a great day!

Oh gosh, it looks WONDERFUL! We will be eating out on Thanksgiving, but I'll think of your gravy.
I don't have to make the turkey gravy anymore but it's one thing I never had any trouble with. Love gravy and yours looks wonderful. I never made it ahead..but now I wish I had known to do that. SO easy to have a lot done before hand.

I love gravy, but I have the worst time making it. I always put my brother in charge of making in. Now that I've seen your post, I'm tempted to try again.
