Summer

I don't have much today.  I must be in a Summer funk with this oppressive heat and humidity.
(These are rare Westmoreland witch balls.)

We had a bit of rain two days ago but I am spending an inordinate amount of time watering. (A collection of glass chalices from Canada and glass candlesticks from Seattle. And a 100+ year old crystal ball.)

I know that lots of people love this weather but I am not one of them. Give me snow any day over heat and humidity. (My favorite witch broom.)

Well, look at it this way, the days start getting shorter now. (My library mantle.)

I can now start thinking of pumpkins?  They are out there growing!

I do hope our summer isn't over already even if I don't want that insane heat we had a few weeks ago. Chilly and windy here today and I do have four snow photos in my blog today :-)

Have a great day!

Christer.

Teddy needs to like to travel and then you could spend 6 months in the Southern Hemisphere. Today winter begins here.

Today is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, and also apparently a strawberry moon. I too am starting to think about pumpkins and autumn. Two months and a half or so and we're there.

The humidity is just outrageous here. I didn't know I could breathe underwater. That's what it feels like when I went outside to get the mail. Yucko.

I am with you on the weather - I do not flourish under heat and humidity. I am waiting for the relief of a storm system and hoping it will not be another hot, dry summer. I hope Teddy has a few nice, cool spots.

I LOVE summer and hang on for the very last minute. I know, the days do start getting shorter, and when winter solstice arrives, I start gloating that the days are getting longer, but for summer solstice I wallow in the long, warm days for as long as possible.

I'm a Southern woman born and bred, but the only thing that gets me through summer is my flowerbeds, and that's assuming they don't burn up.

I'm going to start decorating for Fall pretty soon, to save my sanity.

Happy Solstice to you! I am with you, yearning for autumn. But as they say, hunger is the best sauce. The summer's heat just makes that first crisp breeze of fall that much more savored. The vine maples here are our first herald--about mid-August, their leaves begin to turn. Your home is lovely and magical.
Summer Solstice blessings to you, Joyce!
