Pain in the Ass Bars aka Yum Yummies

Yesterday, I made my kids their favorite cookies which are actually bars.  I made 6X the recipe.  I don't even know that their is a word for that....hexdruple? These are a major pain in the ass though my children call them Yum Yummies.

They are so good that I had a friend whose husband would stand hunched over their sink shoveling them in each Xmas when he got them on their cookie platter. The house rule was that he got all of the yum yummies.

They have a shortbread crust, a pecan pie-like filling and buttercream frosting.

I'm sitting here waiting for The Blog Tech to show up and help me cut them.  Cutting them into pieces is the worst part.  Hopefully the effort will be worth it and we will turn a bunch of wedding guests into yum yummy fans.

I can understand why these would be a favourite!

I agree the cutting makes your hand really sore. I make something similar for holidays. My three sons-in law's favorite. When one became an ex, he would stop over ( children here) and sheepishly look for them I aways but some aside for him. Your guest will love all those treats.

Even though my arteries are seizing up just looking at those, I would be your biggest yum yummy fan, given the chance.... :)

Could you please post the recipe when you have a chance? We all know how busy you are cooking for the wedding, but these bars look delicious! Thank you.
They DO look and sound wonderful Joyce. I also would love to have the recipe if you don't mind, for my loose leaf of your recipe's. It's something I want to pass down to my daughter's. :)

Sounds like something I would stand hunched over the sink eating the entire bunch, too. Oh My!

My parents make something similar at Christmas, or used to: Caramilk bars between two layers of cream fudge. Uber decadent.

They sound so good! But my patience with pain-in-the-ass cooking is limited!

Realize you are up to your a$$ in wedding frivolity(I also am helping with wedding stuff, more with the sewing) but someday maybe you could post the recipe. My sons would thank you from the bottoms of their hearts!
