Italian Stack

I made this for my family to eat during the big game yesterday. It's very easy and really delicious.
The recipe calls for using Pillsbury crescent rolls.  I used french bread dough but I think the crescent rolls would work better.  Line a rectangular pan with the dough. Butter the pan first.

 Add a layer of pepperoni.

 And a layer of provolone.

 Next, a layer of salami.

Then a layer of ham, mozzarella and a layer of mortadella.
Beat 2 eggs with some salt, pepper and a teaspoon of garlic powder.  Pour this over the top. Slice a 12 oz. jar of roasted red peppers and sprinkle them over the top.

Then slice a can of black olives and sprinkle them over the peppers.

Cover the top with another sheet of pastry.
Tuck in the edges and brush the top with an egg yolk.

Cover it with foil and bake it at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.  After 30 minutes, take the foil off and bake for an additional 20 minutes until the top begins to brown.

Remove it from the oven and let it sit for about 20 minutes before cutting.

Mine is a bit sloppy because The Blog Tech couldn't wait for 20 minutes and cut into before it had time to set up.  I served it with pizza sauce on the side.

Goddamn New England won. No more football for 6 months.  Don't be hatin".  You can't like New England if you don't live there.

I only tuned in to the Superbowl to watch Lady Gaga at halftime. But apparently it was a helluva game. Sorry your team didn't win.

That doesn't look bad at all!

My work friend is now very happy, his team won :-) He took the day off since he had watched the game all night :-)

Have a great day!

I thought it looked delicious. Then I saw the ham. If I ever make it, it will be without ham.

I'd like a ham or pepperoni only version. Looks scrumptious. I was routing for the Falcons, nodded off for a bit and said WTF? How did that happen, New England won. Missed all the fun.

Jack and our kids had a long discussion about whether he hates the Patriots more than he loves the Steelers. We all know he loves the Steelers more than ANYTHING!!!....but hating the Patriots takes a close second! HAHAH Needless to say, he was not happy.
