Teddy's Little World

My poor old girl is slowing down.

The older she gets, the smaller her world becomes.  I guess she is a lot like us.

It's been years since she would get in the car.

She no longer goes down to the lower gardens.

She is leery of crossing the creek.

So, about 6 times a day, we go to the upper pond for a drink.  I tell my husband it's like someone pushing an elderly parent around the grounds at the retirement community.

 Here's a new mirror chain I made.

I really like these hummingbird chains because when the wind blows, the bird flies.  Click on the pic for a closer look.

It isn't easy to get old, the joints get stiff and the energy one had just a few years ago is gone, much like it is with me :-)

Have a great day!

Christer.

Sweet Teddy, it is happening to one of my cats. I walk by my bedroom and she is now sleeping on the rug beside the bed. She can no longer jump up on the bed! I now pick her up, down seems not to be a problem. Must be careful at night without lights on I tripped over her! Old age comes to us all...

Poor sweet baby girl, I know her pain. Spunky has the same problem. His world is severely smaller than it was 5 years ago because he's totally blind now. He doesn't go into the car unless David carries him, and when he does it's to go to the vet. I often believe pets got the wrong end of the life longevity deal. All I know is love that little girl every minute you can because these little babies are soon gone.

Aww, sweet Teddy!!! One of our cats is almost 17, his world is so much smaller too. Sigh. Just like our kitty, Teddy's world, whatever size it may get, is full of love and interesting things, and that's all that matters.

Love the chain. We've got one just waiting for a special spot (I'm working on clearing it, if it will ever stop raining, ha).
Give that Teddy girl an extra treat today!

jaz - it's so hard to watch our pets age faster than us . it is so very like watching our parents age before us. the only thing we can do is to take care of them. and you have been doing that for Teddy for her whole life.

The chain is beautiful. You have such a cozy garden, I love it! Oh gosh...the pets aging. I HATE it. I had 2 pugs, one passed away in 2011 at age 16, the other just 3 years ago at age 19. A "walk" consisted of a very slow stroll to the corner and back and it took a good half an hour for him. But you know, his spirit was always sweet and loving. I carried him around more but still got my share of stinky pug kisses! :)

Always difficult to find our pets get older quicker. But lovely pictures as usual.

I know how she feels. I don't go as far, either, as I once did.

But what a magical little world she has! And such loving care. Where do you get those beautiful little glass hummers? I would like to string a few around my place to sparkle it up a bit.

Us old girls still have a bit of adventure in us yet. She's looking good though, and I'm happy to know she will still wander after you as you roam. Everything is looking so lovely and lush right now! I hope your summer is unfolding in delightful ways.
