Onion, Cheese and Herb Rolls

I wanted to make something a bit different when I made rolls for The Chef's sandwiches the other day.  I made my onion and cheese rolls recipe but I added fresh herbs from the garden.  My herbs are at their peak right now and I am adding them to everything.  These rolls are wonderful...and the smell!!!
The ingredients: ½ cup warm water
1 tsp sugar
2 Tbsp yeast
1 Tbsp Olive oil
3 tablespoons minced fresh herbs
3 Tbsp. Sugar
2 tsp salt
2 cups water
1 Tbsp. dried onion flakes
6 cups flour (approx.)

I cut these into a dozen large rolls.  You can make them smaller or even make them into dinner rolls.

I brushed the tops of mine with an egg, beaten with a bit of water and then sprinkled with shredded Asiago cheese and a sprinkling of Italian herbs.

Bake them at 350 degrees until golden, about 20 minutes.

These would make good hamburger buns too.

I freeze them and just pull out as many as I need at any given time.

These can turn even ordinary sandwiches something special.

Herbs and I just do work together :-) They tend to die in my garden :-)
These rolls do sound delicious!

Have a great day!
