Don't Sit by Silently

 This is how I feel every time I turn on the news.  I've even arrived at the place that I avoid the news as much as I can.  This is a mistake!  It's what they want us to do.  Tune out and let them proceed with their agenda.  We have a dictator who is manipulated by Putin and Bannon and we can't just sit back and let this happen.  People have asked for years how the holocaust happened.  Just like this!  We can't compartmentalize any of this.  We have to see it for what it is and scream...NOT IN OUR COUNTRY.  Not in the United States of America!  "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free," This is what America stands for.  And for any Christian out there that believes in the bible, do any of these sound familiar:


 The audacity.  SMH!!!

 And anyone that recognizes this fucknugget will not be surprised to see him hugging Maria Butina, the Russian spy.  Can these Republicans get any cozier with the Russians?  Is it because they are funding their campaigns?  And I am not saying this about all republicans.  There are still a lot of good ones out there.  But if they don't use their voices and power to stop this guy, they are as guilty as he is.

 Another awesome Trump supporter.  No wonder Trump rolled back restrictions on hunting protected species. Does Jimmy John hunt with Don jr.?

My husband found out about Jimmy John's years ago and he hasn't eaten there since. The unfortunate thing is that we're afraid to look into the places we buy anything and everything else, because we know we'll find horrible practices and unethical jerkwads everywhere. Our capitalistic system, at its very ROTTEN core, is just exploitative, benefiting people who abuse over the people and animals and planet that are being abused.

That's why Trump is president in the first place - he lost the popular vote, but he got in anyway BECAUSE he's willing to do anything and everything to stomp on others, and our government incentivizes that just as much as the economic system. It even encourages the kind of behavior that most people find abhorrent, just to make/save a buck. His poor, ignorant supports thought he was SO different, so anti-establishment, but they couldn't see what everyone else did: he's just a different, more explicit part of the same old system.

I agree, we all need to put our foot down, but I'm not sure how, and I'm fighting the depressive thoughts that say nothing I do will make a difference anyway. I still want to try.

A Jimmy John just came to town. I have never eaten at one, so I was going to see what it was like. Now, I suppose I want. I utterly despise what Trump does everyday to destroy goodness in the world.

I'm guessing there are many more GOP in bed with Russia than we realize. Once we get through this, and we will god willing and the 108 mil get off their asses and give a shit this November, we need to put more protections in for ou country. I'm not sure how best to do that but I'm thinking the one and done rule might be a start. The forefather's never wanted the house members to make serving a career. They wanted as many people to get involved, not an elite few. Popular vote, not electorate. We need to take private money out of it somehow. I can't believe the orange asshat would turn over a good and respected US ambassador to Putin for questioning. WTF?Where is congress on this. I personally think someone should be heading to remove the him bodily right now from the white house.

Thank you for speaking out about the racist, homophobic, sexist, greedy pig who is the president. So many blog authors ignore the whole situation and post as if nothing is happening. I agree with you completely. We must pay attention and fight against this scum as best we can. Vote, sign petitions, protest, write letters, call your senators and representatives, contribute to groups that stand for the rights of others and for the environment, contribute to those who are running to replace the assholes who have caused all of this grief. Trump and his cronies must NOT be allowed to continue.

I'm part of this chorus! We also need to focus on future leaders - it's not enough to get this loathsome piece of shit out of office (along with any and all of his cling-ons). We need to get people with moral integrity and at least SOME intelligence in office on every level. There really needs to be a Peoples' Party to kick the Dems and GOPs in the proverbial ass. Neither party gives a damn about the people in this country. And, yes, Theresa - One and Done. Once they get in, all their efforts are focused on staying there and not on representing their constituents. It's a hot mess.

I think Russia runs deep in the new GOP and they are terrified it will come out. That's why they don't support Mueller more. I hope to God they lose the majority this fall. We have Repub Katko here in my Central NY district and the dem has my vote automatically.

I was never a huge fan of John McCain, but he seems to be the only patriot left in the GOP. God bless him and fuck Trump for attacking him.

Laura, spot on. I totally agree and have been saying ever since the subject of impeachment was starting to be brought up that the GOP would never go along with it. They're ALL involved in shady sh*t, and if Trump is going down, they're all going down with him. I can't think of any other reason they would allow this orange clown to make fools of them every single day. It's better to look like garbage than to go to prison on a mass scale for treason, I guess.

Jimmy John’s came to a mall near us. Because of publicity, it closed a year later. The peoples’ voices were heard. I just heard on the news that 4 out of 5 of Trumpers approve of his behavior at NATO and Helsinki. My stomach turned.

I truly believe that if you don’t vote you are putting our country at risk. I didn’t vote for this asshole and I will vote against him in 2020. He’s already starting his run. More people than ever before had better show up. Not much we can do now. The cow is literally out of the barn. Make a difference in 2020!

I agree with ALL the above comments! But, and I have to point it out, he got elected even though he did not win the popular vote. As long as we have the electoral college - he COULD WIN AGAIN (God forbid). We need to rid ourselves of the electoral vote! Without it, Trump is fucked.
