A Cool Down

This is in my lower garden.  We are going to have a couple days of cooler weather this week and I am so excited.  This sure has been the endless summer.

I'm going to make this fall nut brittle. It really looks like Fall doesn't it?

Who wouldn't want to sit here and sip hot cider?

It's time to start looking for the first pumpkins!

Enjoy your fav season! Our temps have cooled off here too after we experienced the hottest UK summer since 1976...apparently. ;) The leaves are already dropping and turning brown too.
Ooooo, that nut brittle DOES look good!

I saw a skein of geese yesterday, and a leaf was turning on my sunset maple. Vine maples are all turning--people are predicting a hard winter (in the Cascade mountains of Washington).

I'm hoping to open my windows for a couple days later in the week. Lows down in the 50's at night. So excited! I love autumn, too. That weather-vane is amazing! I love it!!

I opened the windows for the first time in weeks, loved the silence of no air conditioners running. Not lucky enough to have central air. I will be waiting on the dock with the cider you make us a snack.

Here in Brittany it is quite hot. But I am also starting to get in an autumn mood. Oh and it is H.P. Lovecraft's birthday today.

Oh and I forgot to tell: drinking plenty of cider here, but not hot spiced one.

We know it's finally autumn here in Texas when UT at Austin plays Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl. It's called the Red River Shootout and it's always the first game of October. Also, that same weekend we have the country fair and the parade and a Pumpkin Pile at the Lutheran church near downtown. It was 18 feet tall last year.
I'm so glad that You finally will have a few cool days! It has cooled down considerable here but now we have normal summer temperatures instead :-)

I really would like to sit there and have hot cider or mulled wine :-) but I would also want to have a fishing rod, doesn't matter if I would get any fish though :-)

Have a great day!

Christer.

I bet the pups are happier with the cooler weather, too! It was 54 degrees this morning - I did a happy dance on the deck!

Oh cooler weather, PLEASE let it come here sooner rather than later. Ugh it's so hot.

I can't wait to see the recipe for that brittle I LOVE brittle that has a bunch of stuff in it.

Side note, we went to see Kathy Griffin tonight. OMG, LOVED her.
