Pioneer Festival part 2

 I found more festival pics to show you.  Here you can see 'goldenrod' boiling in a cauldron and will be used to dye fabric yellow.

 Hanging baskets made using gourds.

 Handmade bows and arrows.

 Entertainment in the woods.

 An authentic teepee made from things found in the woods and outfitted with pelts from hunting.

 I now own one of these spoon rests.

 We bought a few things for The Chef.

 This guy makes different types of wooden rakes that you might find in other countries.

 This group will prepare a whole meal which would be a typical Sunday dinner during pioneer times.

 All behind a 'cow high, pig low' fence.

 Spinning yarn.

 Basket making.

 All things leather.

 Their famous sausage sandwich and ham and potato soup. This festival is also known for their pot pies and fried mush.  If The Blog Tech had been there, he would have bought the fried mush!

All the houses were decorated for Fall.

 In this house you can learn how to dry corn and apples.

 This house teaches quilt making.

 This area provides period toys.  These kids are walking on stilts.

We are off to another farm today and hoping to find more pumpkins!
