Yesterday was a perfect Fall day. It was gloomy and cool with some light showers, my kind of day! We took a very long drive up in the mountains. When we take these trips, I always avoid highways and opt for the country roads. You never know what you will find.
Like this farm market! It had no name that we could see but it was decked out with all things Fall.
Pumpkins anyone?
Straw bales.
Belted Galloway cows.
And this find made my day. Years ago The Blog Tech and I came upon this farm on one of our drives. We never found it again though we looked and looked. Yesterday his sister and I found it as we drove down an obscure road. They had just brought in a potato harvest and were sorting them.
And they just picked cabbages as well. These are huge; bigger than basketballs. We bought some of each and Honeycrisp apples as well. Sauerkraut making is in the near future. I will not lose this place again.
We went back to this little place where we found our first pumpkins this year and we bought more.
Then we went to another pumpkin farm and were delighted to see their selection.
A young Mennonite boy waited on us here. Next we found an Amish market and bought cheese and butter and pickled eggs. It was such a fun day! We are off to a festival this morning. Glorious Fall! How I love her.
