I am so truly horrified by what apparently half of this nation is actually made of. To be able to support this assh*le in chief is to ignore some of the most awful parts of humanity. Or should I say a lack of humanity.
What can be said. I have alway said we should not worry about foreign terrorists because we grow our own right here! The past few days have been hard to understand. I can hear the trump administration saying " how can we turn this to our advantage"? They do not get it, they never will it is our job to vote them ( I don 't like to generalize but) all out. The latest I heard second hand from a fox news report, American are being told the caravan will bring disease with them, can you imagine? There are some who will believe this. My first thought when I saw the caravan was , what an awful life these people must be leaving. Most Americans get angry when they cannot pack in front of a store entrance and have to walk three cars lengths, image walking through two countries for a better life.
I totally agree. He is making a mockery out of this country. I am still so amazed at all of his followers. He is like a giant toddler whose mother never says no.
The problem is that the right has gotten so GOOD at playing the victim, acting like THEY'RE the ones who are being persecuted. We've seen it every year during the holidays when they piss and moan that there's a war on Christmas, and we're just seeing a more radical version of that now. They and their followers love to pretend no one suffers more than they do, even now when their party holds all 3 executive branches of government and are passing legislation left and right (or exclusively HARD RIGHT, rather) to impose their will on everyone else. When there are people who are actually suffering, like those in the caravan or the families of white supremacist victims, or people who are literally being sent BOMBS in the mail, the right manages to convince themselves and their fans that somehow, some way, the victims are the real oppressors. THEN they have the gall to accuse the left of playing identity politics and oppression olympics.
And it drags me down into the pits of despair, because I can't think of a single way to fight that.
Hello, I am German and I follow the news daily. I always loved the country and spend my vacations there. And I am frustrated what I hear and see. I can not understand why Americans can be so dump to trust this man. He is lying when he opens his mouth as we say here in Germany. I agree with Debra.
