Christmas Eve Platters

I spent Xmas Eve day packaging everything I baked to give away.  I put holly on top of all the plum puddings and wrapped everything individually.

Then I turned them into platters.  I had to write instructions for each platter since most of the recipients had never tried plum puddings or mincemeat before.

Actually, most of them had never tried stollen either.  I bought these trees on sale the other day and I will show you soon what I am going to turn them into.  I'm very excited.  I will be working on it until next Xmas.

More of the copper fairies adorned the platters. I love this one.  She is holding windchimes made of obsidian.

My husband was the delivery guy.  He does this enthusiastically because everyone is happy to see him!

A couple of my friends hold an international dinner every Xmas eve.  This year it was Israeli.  They were texting me all day as they cooked and at noon they said their pita was a total failure.  I hurriedly made a couple dozen for them.  It was a first for me delivering a Xmas platter along with a basket of pita.

My daughter made them linzer cookies.

And my favorite thing.....springerle!!!  The husband of one of my friends is Swiss and this is his family's recipe.  He makes them every year and they are the best I've ever had.  One of these days I have to get this recipe.
