I recently saw this bread online and thought I would give it a go. It's the easiest bread you will ever make.
I bought this pan to make it in. The entire recipe is made in this 3 qt. pot.
Just mix 4 cups of flour with 2-1/2 C. water, 1 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. yeast. That's it! I decided to add some rosemary and Parmesan cheese as well. I'm sure I will be making many different variations of this bread. Cover the pot and let it rise for about 1-1/2 hours. Remove the lid and give it a quick stir. Replace the lid and put the pot in the fridge for about 14 hours. The above pic is after the 14 hour rise.
You can bake it plain or decorate it using fresh herbs. I used parsley, cherry tomatoes and olives. Then I sprinkled it with shaved sea salt.
Place the pot, without the lid, in a preheated 450 degree oven for 40 minutes.
Remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes before turning it out on a cooling rack.
A perfect loaf of bread. I love the shape.
I can't show you a piece of it sliced or tell you how it tastes because I made these loaves for my dinner guests to take home later today. I'll make another loaf tomorrow and report back. It smells heavenly though!
Winnie was getting her Scottish on wearing a plaid scarf.
She was not happy.
Okay Win Win, I know you are Asian and not Scottish.
Willie just prefers to nap through everything. You can see his little tail nest. That is where his tail curls up on his rump when he is not sleeping.
I bought some flowers to make some arrangements for today's dinner party.
I used my vintage butter crocks to hold the arrangements.
I went with just greens and whites.
With a little pop of purple. Okay....off to do some marathon cooking!
