My Country Drive

I thought you might like to see what my trips to the country look like.

I love seeing it this time of year when the land is stark and there are no leaves on the trees.

You can see more at this time of year than any other.  It's like looking at a home with the curtains open.

I marvel at this property every time I drive by.  It's in a rather busy area but it is such a country like setting.

It has a log house and many other structures such as a lake house and gazebo.

It even has it's own lake and horse paddocks.  For 3/4 of the year, you can't even see it from the road.

You can tell we are in Amish country.

 Quaint farmhouses dot the landscape.

 Small churches and graveyards.

In the Summer we buy lots of fruit and vegetables from this Amish farm.

Soon these fields will be turning green with early signs of corn.

These fields will be filled with colorful mums for Fall.

A Mennonite school under the trees.

The kids playing volleyball in Mennonite dress.

This is my favorite farm and very unlike the rest.  Brick is pretty rare in this area.

We drive through little hamlets that look like they are plucked out of a storybook.

This was always one of my favorites until I saw that flag.

 A Nancy Drew house.

The little old lady decorated for Saint Patrick's Day.  She decorated for every single holiday.

Very soon we will be eating what these fields produce.

With no snow in the area, are there drought conditions in the growing season?

we've had tons of rain this winter.
Beautiful surroundings. It actually looks a bit like in the county where I work :-)

Have a great day!
