The most egregious lies and treatment from a supposedly reputable garage involved a man who owned the place. There was a cross and bible verses plastered prominently. I had four different quotes that were hundreds of dollars apart. He like to proclaim he would not cheat me because he was a Christian. That was enough. I went elsewhere and that mechanic scoffed at the estimates and the garage owner. I do not trust anyone who claims loudly to be a Christian.
When I was a minister's wife, people commented that I never invited people to church or said I was a Christian. However, people on their own came to our church because they knew me. One even went to the church she had sort of abandoned years earlier.
