Start by sauteing some diced onions and shallots (if you have them).

Slice up a bunch of assorted mushrooms.

Cut a baguette in half and scoop out a bit of the soft part. I like using a softer baguette. The hard ones make it difficult to bite and chew. Butter the edges so they won't burn.

You will need some good ham and salami. I used an Italian rosemary ham.

Get out some paprika and pizza or Italian seasoning. Or you can use oregano.

Add some salt and pepper to the sauteing onions.

Add the mushrooms to the pan.

Saute' until the mushrooms are golden. De glaze the pan with a bit of wine.

Divide the mushroom mixture and spread it over each baguette side. Sprinkle it with some freshly diced parsley. Add the ham and the salami.

Sprinkle on some green peppers if you like. Top with cheese. I used mozzarella , a bit of provolone and some Polish Morski cheese.

Sprinkle paprika and pizza seasoning and some granulated garlic over the cheese. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for about 20 minutes.

And though strange by American standards, the Poles eat them topped with ketchup and
mayonnaise. I have found that people eat their pizza topped with ketchup all over Eastern Europe. Try it, you might like it! I used curry wurst ketchup!
