Blueberry Pie and Peanut Butter Cookies

I had a lot of blueberries so I made a blueberry pie.  I used the cream cheese pie crust recipe I showed the other day and I still think it is the best crust ever.

It was a big hit with the fam.

I also saw a new recipe for peanut butter cookies that looked very interesting.  It claimed that they were the best ones ever.  Now, I have made the same peanut butter cookies for years. They are the ones my mother made when I was a little girl.  I still have the recipe in her handwriting.  But I really wanted to try the new one I found.  Not a good idea.  They did not even come close.  They did not even look good.  My family loves cookies.  When my husband tried one he said....these are not your peanut butter cookies.

So, I learned my lesson.  When you have something tried and true and everyone loves it, stick with it.

I made them a bunch of my moms.

This is what the plate looked like in less than 24 hours.  Cookie piggies!  You can find the recipe here:  http://octoberfarm.blogspot.com/search?q=peanut+butter+cookies

That looks wonderful !! I have never tried peanutbutter cookies, because we don't have the same peanutbutter as you have here in The Netherlands. I believe our peanutbutter is much salter than yours. Have to find American peanutbutter first ; )

That is funny! I made a different recipe for banana pudding one time and I though husband and daughter were going to run me off! Tried and true seems to work best.

This will be a bad blueberry year here. I can't see any inn ethe forest and my own bushes suffered badly this March when the ground was frozen but the air was warm. But I can always buy some and make this pie :-)

Have a great day!

We have plenty of blueberries in the freezer from last year. I need to use them since ours are about to ripen for this year. We love a good peanut butter cookie! Sounds like your mother's recipe is a winner.

But sometimes you do get something good like your new pie crust recipe so it isn't always bad to experiment.

I'm an inveterate experimenter.
Don't tamper with perfection is the lesson here!

There are certain recipes one must never try to tamper with, or there is rebellion in the family. It never hurts to try something different, as long as it isn't a disaster. Oh, I just remembered that lemon pie you made, the one you threw directly into the trash, lol!! Sometimes experiments are best left untried!!

Blueberry pie is something of a specialty where I come from, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, where the blueberry is a national resource. It is said you only need three blueberries from there to make a pie.

Just eyed some peanut butter cookies today and sadly did not have one. I bet yours, the original recipe are delicious.
I'm still glad you tried the new recipe. you now know, that there is no substitute for your Mom's cookies. :-)
My husband, Pat, used to ask for blueberry pie every time we went out to eat and never once did they have it! Wish I had tried to make him one! Makes me sad to think I didn't...anyway... where was I?
Oh yes..I am GOING to make those cookies today. LOVE peanut butter..(then then of course I love everything!)
