Officially Fall

Happy Labor Day!  I officially declare tomorrow to be the start of Fall. Halloween is less than 2 months away and I have a lot to fit in between now and then.

I need to do lots of baking and cooking, especially with pumpkin.

I need to take long drives in the country to see the wonderful colors predicted for this year. And to look for pumpkins.

I need to clean out my planters and fill them with mums.

And I need to watch every bit of football I can and build lots and lots of fires in my firepit. Tomorrow I will make grilled mushroom sandwiches.

I want to wear knee socks and plaid and penny loafers.  And I want to go to every Fall festival I can find. So much to do in such a short amount of time.  (photos plucked from the interwebs)

Wonderful photographs today!

I think we actually will get our first frost night tonight! The temperature is already so low that if clouds don't arrive soon frost will come.
Trees are already changing colors here and this is the first week in September so it would be normal.

Have a great day!
Christer.

Happy Labor Day from a worker who lives in a country where it exists in May (which makes no sense at all). I LOVE the George Eliot quote. Thank you for sharing it. For me autumn started yesterday, with the first of September. I try to vary my blog's topics, but they are getting very autumnal.

They seem to plan every thing at the same time around here so it is hard to get to all of the fall festivals.

I hope you will be able to find the pumpkins you need. A report on our news this evening indicates the rainy weather was not good for the pumpkin growers in our area.:-(

Ohhh...I am SO with you on this...I start to live in Fall.
One of your followers wrote me the dearest note telling me you had told him of my Fairy Gardens. How sweet of you!! Thank you, Joyce.

I just emptied my old wagon and getting it ready to fill with pumpkins and mums. I sat on the front porch this afternoon in the scorching heat wanting to go buy my flowers..Mum's, Merrigolds..and anything else I can find. No pumpkins out here yet...at least no one has seen any. I have stuck to the house lately, but this will get me moving again I think.
Big hugs...
COME ON FALL! I accept you beginning it early! Tomorrow...I will go tomorrow. :)
