A Perfect Fall Day

My daughter and I left early yesterday to drive out to the country looking for mums and pumpkins.

 We found them!

This is a Mennonite market and they had the best prices.

We bought lots of mums and got some nice pumpkins too.

This was our next stop.  I recently used up the last of my homemade sauerkraut and I've found that I no longer like cooking with store bought kraut. So, I was thrilled to find that this market was selling their own homemade sauerkraut.

It is located right in the middle of a huge farm.

Then we drove to another market which is known for the mums they grow.

A 1205 lb. pumpkin.  I did not buy it.

A teepee built using cornstalks and a perfect place for a photo op.

 Pumpkin tower!

Then we went to yet another farm market.

 More mums for sale.

But this was the best!  I need to live here.

My daughter went a little crazy when she saw this toy ice cream cart.

I thought I might not get out of here without buying this toy check out counter.  She made me promise that the moment she or my DIL is pregnant, I will come back and buy these.  Ha!  I think she wants to play with them.

 Pumpkin everything.

These pumpkins are made by welding together horseshoes.

We bought so many things that we ran out of room in our car.  We decorated her front porch when we got home.

The pumpkins have a new home.

A row of small pumpkins.  Her house is still not finished.  This front area will be landscaped soon I hope.

The mums are so big that we had to move them from blocking the door. The season is just starting but we are off to a good start.

Just think how many pumpkin pies you could make with a 1200 lb. pumpkin! I love all these pictures, old truck, teepee, toys, little toy grocery cart/buggy. I am going to a Mennonite farm today. Hopefully, I will see a bit of mums and pumpkins.

I can always feel so good about autumn because you do it up so grand. I love your blog.
I've seen neither in our stores yet but mums should come any time soon.

Looks like a really nice trip and whop doesn't get stuck in a toy store :-) :-)

Have a great day!

Christer.

Those pumpkins are multiplying at your house and your daughters, your love of Autumn is amazing and inspiring! Our Kelly has a beast of a pumpkin growing, a huge growing breed of pumpkin, the name escapes me but she planted one seed and it is growing huge! I love the toys in that store!

Great pictures! I have not seen many pumpkins, but I have seen some. This weekend, we should go to a local carnival, it is not autumn related but it often feels very autumnal.
