West Point Market Part II and a New Giveaway

Before we get started I would like to announce the winner of last week's giveaway for the 'Enchanted' book: Laura from Laura's Homestead Adventures Please send me your info and I will ship it right out to you! This week's giveaway is for a bag of goodies I purchased from the West Point Market as shown above.

It includes all sorts of treats that caught my eye while shopping.

There is a small tea collection which includes local honey from Ohio, a honey pot, a tea sampler and the cutest little tea ball!

A bag of butterscotch pecan cookies.

And how sweet are these? A cute toothpick holder and a small pair of scissors with a magnet on the back so you can hang them on your refrigerator.

I just love this towel. Skullions....too funny!

Also included is a half pound box of West Point Market's special chocolates, a bag of their chocolate covered pretzels and two sleeves of Buckeyes. Ohio is the Buckeye State and if you have never sampled the confection by the same name, I guarantee you will become a fan. To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment on this post. If you are not already a follower, just sign on to follow. The winner will be announced next Saturday and a new giveaway will be posted at that time. Good Luck!

Back to shopping at the market. This is a long post with a lot to see so grab a cup of coffee, get comfortable and come shop with me. I thought these were the cutest cards. the sheep are made out of real wool.

The West Point Market has a huge selection of British goods.

Here is the display of the cookies that are in the giveaway bag.

There are kiosks throughout the store with all sorts of neat gadgets.

Each day freshly made soups are offered right in front of the cafe.

This is the one I bought and what can I say....YUM!!!

They offer so many varieties of each item they carry. This is the balsamic vinegar section.

This makes me want to walk down the aisles.

Even their shopping baskets are cute. I hate those lame plastics ones you see everywhere.

This helpful person is packing up the Blog Tech's selections for the dinner party he had the evening we returned.

I am such a sucker for savory pies and they offer beef and chicken.

And my most favorite British import.....Marmite. I love this slathered on my homemade rosemary bread. If you've never tried it you should!

More cute stuff!

Great placemats.

Where do you ever see displays like this in your grocery store?

This is the toothpick holder that is in the giveaway bag.

Funny that the fire extinguisher is hung right next to the hot sauce display.

I guess if you eat Rufus's blazin' hot sauce you might need it.

This is the tea that is in the giveaway.

Mustards

I wanted to buy everything on this table.

A whole section of pewter wares.

I have cabinets like these in my dining room!

I don't know how you can go through this store and walk out with just groceries.

Super cute cookie jar.

Pie plate with the recipe on it.

My motto!

No double dipping...haha!!!

This is the display of Halloween towels like the one I put in the gift bag.

There was a collection of this wonderful Irish pottery in an old pine cabinet.

A chorus of pie birds.

We were so early that the first baked goods were just coming out of the ovens. These are their specialty breads.

The Blog Tech made sure to confirm that this sign was correct.

They have wall sconces in the seafood department. I was impressed

All of their meat is freshly cut. None of it is packed and thrown in a cooler the way most markets handle theirs.

They have a very nice cookbook section and I love the name "Lucid Foods" for a cookbook.

They even carry Virginia Ham and it has a recipe for red eyed gravy on the package. This is my all time favorite breakfast food when it is served with grits.

The middle shelf to the right carries the markets homemade compound butters.

They pride themselves on stocking their produce section with locally grown fruits and vegetables.

And they are displayed in cute baskets.

If you are in a rush after work you can grab some of their freshly prepared and wonderfully packaged meals to take home with you.

And for all you chocoholics out there, I have included a box of these marvelous candies in the giveaway.

They are made by a local Ohio company and the Blog Tech approved of them highly.

The floral section.

This gift basket section greets you just before you leave the store.

Tomorrow I will conclude the tour. If you want to have a look at the market's website, click on the following link: West Point Market.

Congratulations to Laura! and the one winning this giveaway is a lucky one!

I don´t think we have anything like that market over here. I would probably walk around there all day and ruin my economy :-) :-)

I have only heard of Marmite, what is it and what does it taste like?

I like all the china You show here, especially the Irish pottery.

Pie birds is new for me, why are they called that?

That bread looks so fine. Well I started my fire heated stove today for the first time this season so baking season is soon here too :-)

Killer brownie, does that mean heart attack after eating to many :-) :-) :-)

I could comment on every single photo today but I think I´ll just say I love that market :-)

Have a great day now!

Believe it or not but the honey pot was made in Montreal. I have first seen it something like ten years ago. in a cookery shop there. Now it is sold all around the globe, to my great pride.

Hi again,

I'm just wondering how you choose the winner for these wonderful giveaways you have or do you just close your eyes and pick one? :))
Kathy said…
I wouldn't dare walk into a store like that. I'd bankrupt us for sure.

We don't have anything like that anywhere near here. One of the few disadvantages of living in a rural county, I suppose. But having a deer show up in your neighbor's yard makes up for it in a way.
BronnyB said…
Wow.. I would spend so long just browsing in that shop. It would certainly make for a different shopping trip. (never mind the marmite - have you tried the Vegemite?????? So much better - as long as you don't slather it on)
Thank you for this chance to enter the draw for all the goodies.
Corrine said…
Oh wow, If we had a market like that near us, I would never leave. I'd love to enter the give away - the honey pot is so cute! - but I don't think they would let it come into the country. I grew up on marmite, but when I was travelling I could only find vegemite and now that is the spread of choice in this house hold. They are both good though..we have it with everything. marmite and lettuce sandwiches...a touch of marmite in gravy if you are lacking in stock, marmite and cheese on crackers Yum.

I can't resist either, sign me up for the give-a-way!!!

Holy wow... What an awesome market! I could spend forever & and fortune in there! ^-^
I would just love to be entered too! ^-^
Yes, I'm entering this giveaway, but I'd rather comment on the Blog Tech's video and the impressive quantity of durian fruit consumed.

It takes approximately three days for food to travel through the large and small intestine, at which point, inevitably, it must exit.

I hope the Blog Tech found some worthwhile (aka: heavy-duty) bathroom air freshener at this fancy market you both visited :)
Jennifer said…
If it is not too late I would like to enter the giveaway too. I am also a follower of your blog. Wow, what a neat market. We don't have anything like that here, we have a Wal-Mart super center and many of the smaller businesses have closed since it opened.
