Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation Advent House

This is the Advent House you see in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

It's so much fun to open a window each morning.

Each window is numbered.

The pictures are all Victorian Christmas Vignettes.

I've been wrapping presents and making baskets.
Chicken and dumplings and homemade shortbreads for a sick friend.

And the stockings I stitched 30 years ago are waiting for Santa to fill them.

beautiful, and the baskets, what a gift, the Advent house and the magic books, , do you mind me asking how one comes about having these items, friends in high places maybe, ???lol!
Do they sell them after the movie?

I think of You every time I see that movie and I see it at least once every Chriatmas, often more :-)

Christmas stockings almost didn't exist here when I grew up but I've heard more and more families have them now days. Smart since we usually plan our Christmas after Donald Duck and his friends celebrate Christmas (we've seen that show here every Christmas eve for 55 years now :-) ), the kids won't have to wait for so long if they have those stockings.

Have a great day!
Christer.

I'm sure your sick friend will appreciate the goodies.

We are getting our tree this week so I'll get to decorate. If we thaw out!
WHY OH WHY can't I be like you??? ARRGGGGGG!
I LOVE that movie and never fail to laugh. Anything National Lampoon I get a kick out of. Tree is sitting out on the patio all wrapped in the netting which I brought it home in..in water of course. Branches are in water waiting to be added to the vases in the house...but..but..
Love the way you hung the stockings--might have to borrow this idea

It all looks so pretty. That movie always bothers me because of the way the house gets trashed! I think I must be very anal!!

Funny, I still fill my stockings too.
I'm glad you bought the Advent House and not Cousin's Eddie's RV!

I just bought an Advent house but some of the windows are missing. Would you consider take close ups of each window and sending them to me? I would really appreciate it. My wife's father past away and I am trying to cheer her up.
