Buy a cheap ham. This is the key to this recipe. Cheap hams are pumped full of water and as it cooks, it releases the water which mixes with the glaze creating a delicious sauce. Prepare the ham by scoring it all over at 1 inch intervals. Place the plain ham in a 300 degree oven and bake it for 2 hours.
Remove the ham from the oven and push a clove into the middle of each of the triangles you have scored.
Pour the glaze over the ham and return it to the oven for another hour. Then raise the heat to 350 degrees and cook for 30 more minutes. This will thicken the juices.
That's all there is too it.
I always slice it ahead of time and pour the glaze all over to let it soak in. I paid 98 cents per pound for my hams and was able to get over 5 quarts of slices from each one. My hams were each about 14 pounds. I usually surprise the kids with what I am cooking but we told them ahead of time so they are sure not to miss this dinner.
