With a heavy heart I made the kids the last food I'll feed them until the New Year. I do admit I can use a break from cooking but I'll worry about them so much over the holidays. I started by making them a big meat and cheese platter. This platter is almost 3 feet wide so there is tons of food on it for them.
Baskets of sourdough pretzels and peanut M&M's. I'm sure the candy will vanish fast.
Everyone's favorite peanut butter cups and caramels.
Then I made a cheese ball.
And turned it into an igloo.
And decorated it with olive penguins.
I'm sure the kids will get a kick out of this.
I finished the cooking by baking two large sheets of gingerbread squares. I sent them lots of crackers and homemade mustards and jellies, and pickles to eat with the meat and cheese.

but that crown should rest lightly on your head... You are their Angel, indeed... A blessed Christmastide to you and yours.
It's too bad you can't give them a cooking lesson now and then at the site; I'd be willing to bet you have gotten more than one of them interested in cooking and exploring new foods...
Have a great day!
Christer.
Your food has to be such a treat for them. I know from being a director of an after school program the budget for food is low.
Thank you for being there for these children.
Merry Christmas.
