Double Chocolate Cake

I made this cake for a friend yesterday.
I use dark cocoa powder to make this extra chocolately.

I also brush each layer with simple syrup.

And then a thin layer of raspberry jam to add depth of flavor.

It's all topped off with a ganache frosting.

I'm making another one for girl's night tomorrow at my house.  I hate chocolate but all of my girlfriends live for it.  You can find the recipe here:

OH YUM! I am making this!
I like chocolate but that would be TOO chocolatey for me, I know.

Isn't it funny . . . I am not a big chocolate lover either, except when it's cake. I love chocolate cake! You can have the candy bars and boxes of chocolate, just give me cake. This one looks and sounds amazing :)

I like your idea of brushing the layers with simple syrup to help keep them moist. Yum. You can't get too much of a good thing!

No point making a simple chocolate cake. It should always be double or nothing.
That one looks just delicious!

Have a great day!

i'm not a big chocolate eater myself. but i must admit this cake looks delicious. enjoy.

This chocolate cake reminds me of Practical Magic! Pick up "The Rules of Magic" if you haven't had a chance. It's a prequel to the Practical Magic book- many chocolate cakes made in the story!
