Steamy Gardens

It has been just awful here with heat in the 90's and humidity at 98 percent.  You feel like you are walking into a wall of water when you go outside.
It seems that everything has some sort of wilt including myself.

I was outside for barely 5 minutes and was soaking wet.

These photos all look a bit blurry but that is actually the shimmer of the humidity you are seeing.

I thought I was going to have a wonderful garden this season but the only thing doing well is the tomatoes.

I do have ears of corn forming.

 No okra yet.

 My only two apples.

 Lots of tomatillas.

 Roma tomatoes for sauce.

I think even the fish are hot.

Teddy goes outside very little.  Here she is with her escape foot sticking out.

She is still nibbling the sunflower leaves.

We harvested the first of our salsa peppers.

No salsa for you cutie pie!

Look what is growing in my compost tea.  A pumpkin!

Drying chilies.  These suckers are HOT!

Wilting here too, ugh!
Now I am glad that it didn't work out for me to have a garden this year. Just a few pots of flowers, which have been alternatively baked to a crisp, or drowned by rain. The Blog Tech is going to have fun making his salsa!!

I am getting used to putting on wet clothes and shoes to go out and work. I got lucky today and had to unstop the drain in the spring where it is cool.

Surprise pumpkins!
It's hot as hell here but no humidity which makes it a little better. Hovering around 100°

Thank goodness Teddy doesn't nibble on the chilis.

Teddy is one smart dog.I will badly miss the dear grand children, but as for this horrid weather, I can't wait to go home.
Our next to last day in Mount Airy, NC. I know the same sticky wet heat. And yet, I must take a walk in the woods every day.

Wilting here in NC, not really, In the AC most of the time.

Best ever pumpkins, will this one of yours have enough season to produce, is there two, questions questions, lol, Teddy is such a beauty, take care in the heat, it is good for our complexions when its moist, , lol,
Sounds like the perfect weather to hug an air conditioner.

I hope you will have some relief from the heat soon! It doesn't sound like fun at all!

Wish your pictures were bigger, they are so good! Scared to plant chili peppers here, scared the dogs and goats will try them!
Too much water? You don't have this sort of thing every year..right? They talk about the heat your are getting in the news, but no mention of the terrible humidity. I would have thought your garden would florish in such conditions. Would you believe we, WE, had thunder storms here yesterday and some rain? I say some..but we are greatful for even that. I'm sorry about your garden, I really am! :(
Oh the photos do show the humidity. Not fun! Would make a big job of keeping moisture on the garden.
Not too far for autumn and spring for us whoop whoop.
