December 11th! 14 more days until Christmas!

I made the sourdough no-knead bread again but did a different variation this time. For the recipe go to my sidebar and click on no-knead sourdough bread recipe.

After it rises for several days it starts to look pretty scary.

This time I decided to try a cheddar/jalapeno loaf. I don't like things which are too spicy so I used these jalapenos. If you have never tried this product I highly recommend that you do. As you can see on the label these peppers are 'tamed'. They are pickled too and have a great flavor. They are wonderful served on a cheese tray.

For the last rising I added cubes of cheddar. I used a mild cheddar.

I drained the peppers then chopped them.

And added them to the bowl.

I added an additional 1/4 cup of flour.

I let it rise in two bowls since I doubled the recipe for a large loaf.

The bowl is preheated until the oven reaches 450 degrees, then it is sprayed with cooking spray and the dough is dumped into it. It is covered and placed back in the oven.

After 45 minutes the cover is removed and the bread is rolled out onto a pizza stone or oven rack.

The bread bakes another 30 minutes and then is placed on a wire rack to cool.

This would be a really good bread to serve with the chili recipe I posted recently.
