Blackberry Orange Muffins

My grocery store had some beautiful blackberries on sale so I bought a couple packages of them and used them to make these muffins.  I don't eat muffins but my husband ate 3 of these and The Blog Tech said they were exceptional.
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.  Cream the butter with the sugar then add the eggs and the milk.  Mix the dry ingredients together and toss the berries with them and the orange zest.

Pour the liquid over the berries and flour mix and gently fold them together.  Try not to break up the berries.  Divide the batter and fill 12 muffin tins.  Sprinkle the tops with vanilla sugar.  Bake for 25 minutes.

Let them cool for 10 minutes in the muffin tins and then remove and let them cool on a rack.

Here is the recipe:

2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp grated orange zest
2 cups fresh blackberries
1 stick butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
