Garlic Bread

Sorry for the short post today and none yesterday!  I had to go back to the hospital to have my sutures removed.  The hospital is a huge complex and I got a bit lost.  I seriously walked a couple miles before finding the office.  To say that this was painful is completely understating it.  I am really good with pain.  I did not cry and I did not even whimper but I broke out in uncontrollable sloppy sweats that I did not even realize I was capable of producing.  But hey, they are out and that part is behind me!  I still need to wear the claw brace for 6 weeks.  I can start to move it a bit each day but I have a long way to go.  I can only move it a couple of millimeters right now.  Onward and upward!

I made this garlic bread to serve with the lasagna.  It's very simple but oh so good.  At least I think it was as I never actually got any!  A crusty bread with large bubbles is best for this because you want the garlic to fall into the pockets.

Soften a stick of butter and mix it with lots of dices garlic and some fresh parsley.  I used about 5 large cloves of garlic.

Melt this mix and stir to combine.

Half the loaf of bread and cut each side in half again.  Brush thoroughly pushing pieces of the garlic into the holes.  Broil until the edges turn golden and the butter is bubbling.

If you want to be very decadent add cheese before broiling.  I never do this when I serve it with lasagna because there is already so much cheese in that dish.  But it is very good with cheese when served with spaghetti.
