Olive and Cheese Bread Recipe

The shelter gave me a lot more stale bread yesterday.  This is what I returned to them today.  Olive and cheese bread.  I have made this for years and people love it.  It makes a great meal with a salad or works as a good appetizer too.

I will give you the recipe for 1 loaf which makes two halves after you split it.  Chop up 1 can of black olives drained.

Add 1/2 C. soft butter, 1/4 C. mayonnaise, 1 tsp. granulated garlic, 1 tsp. granulated onion and 2 C. shredded mozzarella. Add 1 bunch of sliced green onions.  Mix this all together thoroughly.
Slice the bread in half and spread half of the mixture on 1 half and the rest on the second half.  I made tons of this but this recipe will make just the two halves when you split one loaf.

Bread as far as you can see! I made about 30 halves.

You can use any kind of Italian or French bread.  The rounds are focaccia.

Bake these for 25 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

Remove them and turn your oven to broil.

Broil them just until they start to brown.

Keep a close eye on them so they don't burn.  They brown very fast under the broiler.  I ran out of the cheese mixture so I made the rest into garlic bread but I forgot to take a photo of it.
