Brunch

My daughter was home last weekend so I made a big brunch on Sunday before she left. I made these chicken legs which are the Blog Tech's favorites.


My daughter requested that I make her favorite rolls to take back with her, so early in the morning, I started the dough.


While they were rising, I made the rest of the food. These chicken legs are so good and very easy to make. Make deep cuts all over the legs. In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup of hoisin sauce, 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 4 diced garlic cloves, 4 tablespoons of freshly grated ginger, 1/4 cup of sesame oil and 1/4 cup of olive oil. Whisk in 1/2 cup of honey. Pour this into a zip lock bag and add the chicken legs. Let these marinate for 24 hours turning several times during the time period. When you are ready to cook them, turn on your broiler. Line a cookie sheet with tin foil and lay the legs on it. Drizzle the marinate over them. Broil for 20 minutes on each side. Serve them with the broiled marinate poured over them.


I also made some garlic bread. It is also very simple. Slice a loaf of ciabatta in half.


Spread the pieces with butter that has been mixed with lots of diced garlic. Sprinkle the tops with Parmesan cheese.



Broil until the edged turn dark golden brown.


Slice in long strips before serving.


The garlic bread was served with the Turkish salad I recently posted, my pickle pot, pate' and assorted meats and olives.


I am soooo into Turkish food right now. Wait until you see what I made this morning. I will post it tomorrow!

The dough is rolled out and brushed with melted butter. I like to sprinkle a bit of Italian seasoning on it too. Then it is sprinkled with grated cheese. You can use any kind you like. Roll the dough up and slice off 1 1/4 inch pieces.


My daughter loves them baked on pepperoni, so I sit each one on a large piece of it.


I made some with Gruyere.


And I made some with cheddar.



I added pesto to these.


The cooler was packed to the top with individual frozen meals I made for her. And she had bags and bags of rolls to take back with her to freeze. Come back soon my dear sweet daughter. I miss you to pieces!!!
