Homemade Barbeque Sauce

It is so easy to make really good BBQ sauce at home.  If you have never done this before, give it a shot.  It is so much better than the nasty grocery store stuff.

In  a bowl, measure 1 T. black pepper,  1 C. brown sugar, 2 tsp. dried thyme, 1 tsp. celery salt, 1 T. chili powder and 2 T. granulated garlic.

Saute' 1 diced onion in 3 T. olive oil.  Sprinkle the spices in a cook for a couple minutes longer.

Add 2 C. ketchup, 1/2 C. yellow mustard, 1/2 C. cider vinegar, 1/4 C. lemon juice and 1/4 C. steak sauce.

Add 1/3 C. Worcestershire sauce and 1 T hot sauce, 1/4 tsp. liquid smoke and 1/3 C. molasses.

Whisk this all together and simmer it for about 15 minutes.  This smells wonderful!

You can use this on everything you grill all summer long.  It makes great BBQ'd chicken.
